Mark Daubney is an adjunct professor at the School of Education and Social Sciences at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, and a researcher at the Research Centre for Identity(ies) and Diversity(ies). His research has centred on future and trainee EFL teachers in their language classes and on the practicum respectively, and how their emotions shape interaction in the classroom. He is also interested in the interface between emotions – especially motivation and anxiety – and teacher/student identity (ies), and the role emotions play in research and the teaching-learning process. He has participated in various European projects – both as a team member and a consultant – focusing on foreign language teaching methodologies. His PhD is entitled Language anxiety in English teachers during their teaching practice.
